Day 1: Flight Tel-Aviv- Vienna :

Pick up at airport, drive around to get acquainted with Vienna: Ringtrasse with Parliament and more.

Drive to other side of theDanube. Stop at the Hundertwasserhaus which is an apartment house,

built after the idea and concept of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser .

If possible early check-in to the hotel.

Later in the afternoon a short orientation   walk in the district of the  hotel, including some

parts of Ringstrasse and stories about some of the families that had their fancy

palaces at that street (Ephrussi,known from the book “The Hare With The

Amber Eyes”, Lieben- Auspitz etc.), university and last remaining part of the old city wall.

5 nights at Five Star Deluxe hotel  in the very heart of the old town. The hotel, restaurant,

cafe and bar are popular among business and leisure travelers alike. Take a stroll past the Hofburg,

Kohlmarkt, State Opera House and the many other nearby sights. Most of Vienna’s cultural

treasures are just a short walk from the hotel( with an option for an extra night or two or more .)

Day 2: Morning walking tour of the city center with its main sights, including  Stephansdom,(St.

Stephen’s Cathedral)  The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today

in the Stephansplatz, (1300’s).The most important religious building in Vienna, has borne

witness to many important events in Habsburg and Austrian. Wikipedia. Explore the romantic

and less known back streets and courtyards of Vienna including Mozart’s Figaro House

only the walls remain from his time, it’s now a small museum. Afternoon:The Imperial Treasury

Museum (Wiener Schatzkammer). The House of Habsburg set up the treasury here in the 14th century, which is located in the Schweizerhof courtyard of the Hofburg palace.Next, visit the Imperial Crypt (GermanKaisergruft), also called the Capuchin  Crypt (Kapuzinergruft.)  Since 1633, has been the principal place of entombment for members of the House of Habsburg.

Day3: A Day dedicated to memory of the Jews of Vienna.

Start the day with a walking tour of Jewish Vienna, including the Synagogue (visit during Hag Succoth prayers) and the museum to history of the Jews of Vienna. See the Judenplatz Holocaust Memorial to the 65,000 murdered Austrian Jews. Continue by bus to Tempelgasse and the memorial to the LeopoldstädterTempel, which was destroyed by the Nazis in 1938 during the so-called Reichskristallnacht. Walk along part of the “Path of Remembrance”, consists of small metal plaques, which are placed in front of the houses, buildings and institutions that were part of Jewish life in the Second District of the city. Visit the Freud Museum, Sigmund lived here 1891-1938 until he fled unwillingly to London with his family. Visit near by the hidden Jewish cemetery, Vienna’s oldest surviving Jewish cemetery FreidhofRossau, with grave stones dating back to 1540.

Day 4: Morning:Drive out to Schönbrunn Palace which is the former imperial summer residence. The 1,441-room Baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural,

and historical monuments in the country. The history of the palace and its vast gardens spans over 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs.

Drive out of the center of Vienna, to the little old wine village Grinzing, then drive up to Kahlenberg through the vineyards to enjoy the view over the city.From there are views of Klosterneuburg and its monastery, drive along the Danube back to town.

Day 5: Drive to Belvedere Palace museum,the grounds are set on a gentle gradient and include decorative tiered fountains and cascades, Baroque sculptures, and majestic wrought iron gates.

The Baroque palace complex was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy. Return to city center to see the Secession building which houses “Beethoven Frieze” a painting by

Gustav Klimt .Walk to the Modern Art Museum: Mumok focuses its attention on the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Works by Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Pablo Picasso, Yoko Ono, Günter Brus and Gerhard Richter invite visitors to engage with contemporary art.

Day 6: Morning Option:  11:00 Spanish Riding School: (see prices below)

After the show, walk to the Museum-quarter, among the museums  we shall visit are the Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM), one of the world’s foremost fine arts museums, enriches any Vienna itinerary and is a must!  Leopold Museum is a unique treasure-trove of Viennese art nouveau, the Vienna Workshop and of the Expressionist period. Meet back at the hotel for transfer to the airport (included).

Day 7: Free day, for self-exploration with the “Vienna Pass” which Alex will hand out to all the travelers, with a list of all the sites/museums included to choose from
